This is Belize: the Caribbean’s best kept secret and the backdrop for Yogi Charu’s inspirational one week tour and retreat. WHAT TO EXPECT?

Revitalize you body, refresh your mind and deepen your understanding of yoga and yourself through the daily practice of classical Hatha yoga and meditation. Learn the secrets of the great yogis as you explore isolated islets, snorkel over the largest coral reef on the west coast, float through talus caves, experience local life and other places of natural beauty in this Garden of Eden.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:

Day One: Arrival at the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (PGIA). From there we are off to the marina for boat trip to the Island of Caye Caulker where we shall spend the night at the Masapan Hotel or another hotel of similar quality.

Day Two: The small coastal village of Caye Caulker offers us the opportunity to connect with the ocean by visit breathtaking and awe-inducing marine sites such as: Hol Chan Marine Reserve, parts of the Belize barrier Reef (the largest coral reef on the western coast) and Shark Ray Alley where you will share the ocean waves with nurse sharks and graceful rays. We’ll take the last boat back to Belize City and stay at the Mopan Hotel.

Day Three: From the mighty ocean we look to the fertile land of Belize as we head to Jaguar Paw Resort – 200 acres of jungle trails and splendid caves. After a short hike, get ready for a unique Cave Tubing experience in the wondrous Caves Brunch River – witness the tremendous power of water as you meander through the limestone caves of Belize. The day ends in Santa Elena Cayo where we shall get a good night rest at the Aguada Motel.

Day Four: A guided tour of Mountain Pine Ridge which includes: Rio On Pools and Rio Frio Caves (the most extensive cave network in the world). Enhance your meditation practice by tapping into the mystic energy of the ancient mayan culture at the Caracol Maya Ruins. We return to the Aguada for a well deserved rest.

Day Five: Take in the sights as we drive through Dangriga on our way to Punta Gorda Town to discover the fascinating customs of the Garifuna – the descendants of Caribs Indians and the first Black African slaves. They have maintained their cultural inheritance through the British occupation and adapted to the pressure of the modernized world.
Welcome in the New Year with the joyful beating of ancestral drums and the exhilarating dances of the Garifuna as you take part in their traditional New Year Celebration. We will spend the night at Beya Suites in Punta Gorda Town.

Day Six: Restore your energy and really get a feel for the magic of this ecological jewel with a day in the Sapodilla Range of Cayes. A fun filled day of sightseeing, snorkelling and swimming in the refreshing aqua blue waters of the Caribbean Sea and resting on its enchanting white sand beaches. When the night falls on this extraordinary day, we will return to Beya Suites.
